Community for Tomorrow Responds to Frequently Asked Questions Answer: As for groups of scientists coming together, it’s already done. The places are called universities. The problem is that the individuals in these institutions tend to be exceptional in their area of inquiry. However, you leave their narrow focus of study and you generally find they have as much insight of the world at large as the guys pushing the broom and cleaning up the halls at the same institution. Most of them have no clue as to what is about to come upon them. The task before us is not to bring them together. The task is for those of us who see what is coming is to lay the foundations and resources to get them working in the right direction. What is more, most of them have already begun to be hit by the economic crunch so if you have the finances, you can get their attention. In the simplest terms what we need to do to lay the foundations is to establish an envelope of the free market around the universities. The way this can be achieved is by the gratitude mechanism created by Professor Andrew Galambos. On an operational basis, this involves the following: Those of us who are in a true position of understanding must energize the intellectuals first to generate the products and then support those individuals that have the self esteem to implement those products while making sure that everyone including the intellectuals participate in the process from those products. In closing, the difference between what we are proposing here and what has been attempted in the past, as seen in New Harmony, is that this is a free market effort, not a commune.
